The warrior code:

1. Defend your clan, even at the cost of your life. You may have friendships with cats from other clans, but your loyalty must remain to your clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.

2. Do not hunt or tresspass on another clan's territory.

3. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices can not eat until they have hunted for the elders.

4. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to Starclan for its life.

5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.

6. Newly appointed warriors must keep a silent vigil for one night after recieving their warrior name.

7. A cat cannot become deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.

8. The deputy becomes clan leader when the leader dies or retires.

9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.

10. A gathering of all four clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts the night. There shall be no fighting of the clans at this time.

11. Boundries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all tresspassing cats.

12. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different clan.

13. The word of a clan leader is a warrior's law.

14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self defense.

15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

Only some leaders are remembered by the clans. Their deeds, good or evil, are told and retold by each generation until they pass from history to legend. The ones whose names and deeds have been forgotten only StarClan knows.

Thunderstar: Large orange tom the color of autumn leaves, with amber eyes and big white paws. Strong, courageous, and determined. Founder of ThunderClan-worked with Wind, Shadow, and River to develop the warrior code. According to legend it was Thunderstar who insisted on more compassionate elements.  His deputies were Lightningtail and Owleyes, and his apprentices were unknown.

Owlstar: Dark gray cat with huge, unblinking amber eyes. ThunderClan's second leader was a legendary hunter, who learned the ways of the tawny owl to stalk prey at night in silence. His/her deputies and apprentices are unknown.

Sunstar: Tom with yellow tabby stripes, green eyes, and long fur. Fair minded, even tempered, and wise. He held his clan together through a dangerous leaf-bare and fought to keep Sunningrocks away from RiverClan. His deputies were Tawnyspots and Bluefur, and his apprentice was Lionpaw.

Bluestar: Blue-gray she cat with piercing blue eyes and silver hairs tipping muzzle and tail. She is/was wise, kind, beloved, and strong. She brought a kittypet named Rusty into ThunderClan. Rusty was renamed Firepaw and grew to become on of the most essential, valued, and respected cats in all the forest. Her deputies were Redtail, Lionheart, Tigerclaw, and Fireheart. Her apprentices were Frostpaw, Runningpaw, and Firepaw.

Firestar: Tom with bright green eyes and flame colored pelt. Brave intelligent, and loyal-a natural leader. He has an unusually strong connection with StarClan. He brought WindClan back from exile after they were driven out by ShadowClan. He also uncovered Tigerclaw's treachery in time to stop him from killing Bluestar. He saved the clan from a terrible fire in the camp. He dicovered Tigerclaw's scheme to unleash a pack of dogs and organized a plan to save his clan. He led the clans of the forest against bloodclan. He kept the clan together through the twoleg destruction and brought them safely to a new home around a lake. His deputies were Whitestorm, Graystripe, and Brambleclaw. His apprentices were Cinderpaw, Cloudpaw, and Bramblepaw.
